According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Hanuman stopped at Jakhu Hill during his search for the Sanjeevani herb to heal Lord Lakshmana.

Jakhu Hill and its surroundings are known for a large population of monkeys. These monkeys are often seen around the temple premises, and visitors are advised to be cautious with their belongings.
