10 Reasons Why Agrasen Ki Baoli is the Most Fascinating Place in Delhi
Agrasen Ki Baoli, one of Delhi’s most ancient monuments, is an underground stepwell built by King Agrasen in the 6th Century AD as part of his palace complex. The well has 30 steps that descend down to the water level, making it popularly known as Chandi-ka-Tila (literally a subterranean temple to the moon). It had 6 wells in the past but only 2 remain today and they are among the deepest wells in Delhi and perhaps even India.
