The Shaniwar Wada was the seven-story capital edifice of the Maratha Empire's Peshwas. It was supposed to be entirely made of stone, but after the base floor or first story was completed, the people of Satara (the national capital) complained to the Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj (King), claiming that a stone monument could only be sanctioned and built by the king himself, not the Peshwas.
Golconda Fort is located in the western section of Hyderabad, around 9 kilometres from Hussain Sagar Lake. The outer fort measures three square kilometres in size and 4.8 km in length.
