Sometimes, it is not possible to cram everything into your sightseeing tour, since you are short of time. Therefore, certain itineraries are worked out in such a manner that you get to see everything that is deemed as terribly important and return home, well satisfied. One such tour is the Golden Triangle tour. It refers to the Delhi-Agra-Bharatpur-Jaipur itinerary, which lasts for just two days and one night. You must be at the Delhi railway station or airport, in order to be picked up.

Day 1 – Delhi to Agra

The journey from Delhi to Agra takes almost four hours. When you reach the place, you may check into a hotel, as per instructions given by the tour guide. Once you have refreshed yourself, it is time to visit all the renowned tourist spots in Agra. It is a foregone conclusion that you cannot leave the city, without viewing one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, which is the Taj Mahal! It is a supreme representation of love, which has no parallel in this world. Despite being constructed in 1630, the marble structure sustains.

Another place that you should not miss is the magnificent Agra Fort. It is beautifully maintained, for UNESCO has declared it as a world heritage site. You will need quite some time to admire the Pearl Mosque, as well as check out the halls used for private and public audiences. There are charming gardens and silent tombs within the Fort too. Considering, that, everything was designed by Mughal architects in alignment with the wishes of various Mughal Emperors, you should find every nook and corner quite fascinating. Even if you have no time to visit other places in Agra, these two places should suffice to provide you with splendid memories of your holiday. Once you are through with your tour, you may return to your hotel for the night.

Day 2 – Agra to Bharatpur

Once again, you will have to wake up early, especially if you are to reach Bharatpur on time for satisfactory sightseeing. The driver will have to cover 55 km by road. Do not worry, for the journey will not be boring. In fact, you will be treated to an exciting halt along the way. Fatehpur Sikri was the original capital of the Mughal Empire. It boasts of the world’s largest gateway, which is the Buland Darwaza. Take a good look at everything while you are here.

Once you reach Bharatpur, you will be part of a guided tour to the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. The large sanctuary came into existence over 250 years ago. It is home to over 230 birds, including endangered species like the Siberian Crane. If you are a bird lover, you will not feel like leaving the place filled with riotous colours and the sound of ‘bird’ music!

It is entirely up to your guide and driver to decide if there is sufficient time to visit the Lohagarh Fort and museum too. This is because you will have to leave for Jaipur in the evening. The journey is slightly beyond three hours.
