Ganga Maharani Ka Mandira, a temple in Bharatpur city of Rajasthan, is said to have taken 90 years to build. This temple is located in front of the Bharatpur Fort's main entrance. The architecture of the temple is made on seeing it. The special thing is that there is a statue of Ganga riding a crocodile inside the temple.

Maharaja Balwant Singh, the Jat lord of Bharatpur, began work on this shrine in 1845. Up to the rule of five kings, this temple's construction was ongoing. Its construction was completed during the reign of Maharaja Brajendra Singh.

The statue of Ganga Maa is made of marble. Next to him is a four feet tall statue of King Bhagirath, who is saluting Mother Ganga. The idol of Ganga Maa was made by a Muslim sculptor. The building of Ganga Maa Mandir is two-storied. There are wonderful carvings on the walls. • Stones were brought from Banshi Paharpur in Bharatpur district for the construction of this Badami colored temple. In terms of architecture, a combination of Mughal, Rajput and South Indian styles is seen in this temple. The temple is spread over an area of ​​about one and a half acres. The special thing about the temple is that there is always a direct view from a window of the palace.

Ganges water is available in Prasad

Gangajal is distributed as Prasad to the devotees who come here for darshan. The temple has two entrances. One entrance has Lord Krishna while the other entrance has the idols of Shiva-Parvati and Lakshmi-Narayan. Devotees from far and wide come here to seek the blessings of Mother Ganga.

The temple opens at 5 am and closes at 12 noon. Then it remains open from 5 pm to 10 pm. Ganga Saptami and Ganga Dussehra are the famous festivals of this temple. At that time a crowd of devotees throngs here.
