  • Jogini Falls :- is a waterfall with a stream running down to join the river Beas in the Kullu Valley below. It is sacred to the the village goddess Jogini & is therefore a place of female power, known as a shakti peeth.


Jogini Falls are on the Northern edge of Vashisht Village & mark the village boundary. Land on the other side of the falls belongs to the village of Goshal.

Sacred to the Vashisht Village protective goddess, who is said to reside inside the rushing waters of the beautiful falls.

Below the falls there is a small shrine, almost unnoticeable but important. Below that is a Main Shrine (small temple) said to be more recent.

Villagers go to Jogini Devi to make offerings & to ask for her intercession. As it is such a peaceful, even soporific, sacred place, villagers also go there occasionally to sleep. Special occasions are marked by the cooking of food & the performance of rituals.

Jogini Falls is situated 5 kms from Manali in Kullu Valley. You will need to drive to Vashisht village to reach this beautiful water body. 

Numerous small streams join the Beas river in Kullu Valley. Jogini Falls is located on one such stream. You would be amazed to know that this water fall is dedicated to Goddess Jogini Devi. 

Since this water body is named after a goddess, Jogini Falls is also a place of Shakti worship. Thereare two temples near the falls, one is small in size and the other one is bigger.

  • Go shopping - Since Manali is hardly 5 kms away, you can spend your time buying things in Manali. Visitors can pick up shawls, woolen clothes, honey, souvenirs and silver jewelry. Don't forget to buy Tiberan handicrafts in Manali. 
  • River Rafting - You can also raft down the Pirdi reiver near Kullu. The entire river rafting trip is 14 kms and is operated by experienced professionals. 
  • Wildlife Sanctuary - There is a wildlife sanctuary near Manali and you can see several beautiful birds and flowers here. Not only this, this sanctuary also has brown bear, ibexand snow leopards.Since this forest is spread over 3,000 hectares, you would need a full day exploring the jungle.
  • Pandoh Dam - Don't forget to visit the Pandon lake and dam. The beautiful lake which is formed by damming Pandoh river will take your breath away. 
  • Hadimba Devi Mandir - When you are free from Jogini Falls, you can visit Hadimba Devi Temple near Manali. This 500-year old temple is dedicated to Hadimba Devi, wife of Bhimsena of Mahabharat.
