Sissu Valley- A tourist place in Himachal!

Sissu, also known as Khwaling, is located in Lahaul, Himachal Pradesh, on the Chandra River's right bank. Visitors may go to Sissu. Lofty peaks like the Gyephang Goh by leaving the North end of the Rohtang or Atal Tunnel surrounds this place. Location

A little village called Sissu, often referred to as Khwaling, is located in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul valley. It is on the right bank of the Chandra River, around 40 kilometres from Manali. The coordinates are 32°29′0′′N 77°7′0′′E. 3,120 metres (10,235 feet) above sea level. Koksar has located 14 km (9 miles) to the southeast, while Gondhla has located 11 km (7 miles) to the west.

  • Enjoy the waterfall

It is especially breathtaking to see the waterfall, called locally as "Palden Lhamo dhar," across the Chandra River from the town. The well-known Lahaul deity known as Ghepan/Ghepang or Lord Gyephang resides in the neighbouring town of Shashin. Gyephang Goh is the name of the mountain to the east of the town, which rises to a height of 5,870 metres (19,258 feet). Moreover, Sissu boasts a Helipad and a nearby Lake, both of which are popular with tourists.

Although Sissu serves as the centre of numerous nearby villages, including Labrang, the Labrang Gompa, a Buddhist temple, is accessible to outsiders. For the adjacent villages of Ropsang-Khangser-Gyungling, Gomathang, Yangling, Jagdang, Sarkhang, Shurthang, and Labrang, Sissu serves as the primary town centre. Moreover, the Labrang Gompa in Labrang Village is a Buddhist temple honouring Palden Lhamo. Sissu lies within a few kilometres from the Rohtang Tunnel's north entrance, therefore this area will remain linked all year. Best time to visit

Between April and August, Sissu enjoys good spring and summer weather, when the fields of potatoes and cauliflower are in full bloom. Winters, which last from November to February, bring significant snowfall and peak temperatures that can drop below zero degrees Celsius. The ideal time to visit Sissu is in the fall, from August to September, when the golden poplar trees start to lose their leaves and the temperature is comfortable. (Around 25 degrees celsius).
