The Bundela Rajputs of the kingdom of Orchha Madhukar Shar was begun to construction of Chaturbhuj Temple and completed by his son Vir Singh Deo in the early 17th century. The Chaturbhuj temple is imposing with tall spires built atop a high platform. Its exterior is richly ornamented with lotus symbols.
