Laxmangarh Fort

Laxmangarh Fort

Laxmangarh Fort is a fort in the town of Laxmangarh in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, India. This fort was built on top of a mountain, providing a panoramic view of Laxmangarh. Laxman Singh, the Rao Raja of Sikar, built it in 1862. As a result, the fort was named Laxmangarh Fort after him.

It is a unique fort since it was built on top of rocks and the majority of the fort was fashioned with rock carvings. Despite being built in the early nineteenth century, the Laxmangarh Fort is distinguished from other forts in Rajasthan by its stone carving and design. In comparison to other forts in the area, the Laxmangarh Fort is a modest structure. On the fort's walls, carvings of deities protecting the town or local deities can be found.

Laxmangarh is notable for its many homes; travellers occasionally stay in these houses to explore and learn about the town's history. Although the Laxmangarh Fort is no longer open to the public owing to degradation, the ramp at the entrance provides guests with a panoramic view over the town. Because the fort is built on top of a mountain in Sikar and is surrounded by dirt and desert, preserving the damaged fort is challenging due to the area's frequent dust storms. The Laxmangarh fort is a must-see for any history buff or enthusiast.

Anyway, after seeing the fort, we went for a walk around the local market, hoping to find a clean shop where fresh Kachoris were being fried. But we couldn't do it. We took a loop and came across a lovely temple at a crossroads. Shri Murli Manohar Ji Temple was revealed to be the location. I would have loved to see the Daakniyon Ka Mandir, which was allegedly just behind that. Based on the name, it may have been intriguing.

Things to Do at Laxmangarh Fort

When compared to other forts, the fort appeared modest but interesting. So we began our ascent. There were only a few folks playing cards on a khaat near the entrance. Apart from that, it appeared to be devoid of humans.

Laxmanagrh Fort is now a private property owned by a local businessman, and the complete fort is no longer open to the public. On a visit of Laxmangarh Fort in Rajasthan, however, you can see a public temple by mounting the ramp before the main entrance to the fort.  The top of the ramp provides a spectacular bird's eye view of Laxmangarh town, which is modelled after Jaipur, Rajasthan's busy capital city. From the ramp of Laxmangarh Fort Laxmangarh, have a spectacular perspective of the layout of the twin Char Chowk Haveli below. This haveli, with its beautiful frescoes, is another must-see in Laxmanagrh. After that, you must go to this lovely haveli.
