Architecture

The palace's three storeys are arranged in a round arc around an interior courtyard with a marble pool in the centre. Views of the gardens located below Lake Pichola's dam wall may be seen from balconies and rooftop terraces that open off various apartments. The structure was designed in the traditional Rajput manner. The inside is decorated with glass mosaics, frescoes, and inlay work made of ivory and mother-of-pearl, many of which were created by Khaja Ustadh and Kundan Lal, whom the Maharana had sent to England to study fresco painting and acquire the craft of glass mosaic design.

The palace originally featured nine apartments, all of which were on the ground floor. Eight flats were constructed in a new second floor during the hotel's restoration, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 36.
