Saheliyon ki Bari, Udaipur

One miracle of nature designed by man for a lady is Saheliyon Ki Bari, often referred to as the Garden of Maidens. Women have had little to no prominence in Indian history, however the Mewar Kingdom of Udaipur's history shows a different picture.  It is very rare in the history of India where special locations were created for women only.

The Garden of Maidens is a magnificent natural wonder that was meticulously and perfectly created in the Rajasthani region of Udaipur. Beautifully carved marble pavilions, kiosks in the pool, a lotus pond, and rain fountains are in the park, which provides mesmerizing vistas.

History

We are everyone familiar with the Taj Mahal, which Shah Jahan built as a sign of his and Mumtaz Mahal's affection. Another manifestation of unwavering devotion is Saheliyon Ki Bari. To appease his love interest, Rana Sangram Singh, commonly known as Rana Sanga of the Mewar dynasty, had the garden constructed. The garden gives you a singular sensation of joy and profoundly soothes your spirit. This amazing is feeling beyond description. The 48 maids who came to Udaipur with the Queen as a wedding present were also given a garden.

The garden was a fast retreat from political issues for the Queen and the royal maidens. The garden also offers the King and Queen privacy in the midst of nature. A special relaxation area for the Queen and her maidens was a priority while creating the garden. They walked for hours on end, appreciating the breathtaking beauty of the natural world.
