The T2 terminal at Delhi International Airport will be closed to passengers beginning May 17 at midnight. Due to the low number of flights operating from here, it has been agreed to close the terminal. According to reports, the second wave of COVID-19, which India is currently fighting, has caused people to be concerned about their safety, so less people are flying now. All flights will depart from the airport's terminal T3 beginning May 17 at midnight.
The transition is expected to aid airlines and airports in better managing their capital during the pandemic. The Delhi airport used to handle approximately 1,500 flights a day. This figure has now dropped to 325 flights a day.
