On Friday night I and my friends have decided to enjoy a weekend getaway to Kasauli. In the early morning, we are ready-packed with essentials and started our road journey from Chandigarh. As we stated early we reached Kasauli around 6 in the morning.
Kasauli is one of the popular hill stations in Himachal Pradesh. A quiet town which is nestled among the Shivalik Range is located in the midst of green hills and halfway between Kalka and Shimla. It is one of the most favourite destinations for weekend trips and retreats.

Enjoy a walk in the untouched natural beauty of Kasauli. Many people visit here to walk amidst the most picture-perfect places. Not just this if you are thinking what to do in Kasauli then have a walk from Lower Mall up to Kimmughat & Sunset point and around the Sanatorium, the Lover’s Lane, and the cantonment area. Toy Train Ride
One of the best and most popular things to do in Kasauli is a memorable train ride between two stations of proximity. This toy train ride is also declared as World Heritage by UNESCO. From Kasauli, we traveled to Dharampur, which is about 10 km, and traveled by train up to Barog and returned. We have experienced one of the longest tunnels at Barog, which is a total of 3 minutes’ travel, during the trip. One of the refreshing and enchanting journeys where we have experienced hills tunnels, gorges, oak & pine forests, and small hilly hamlets

Gurkha Fort
Gurkha Fort is an old historical place located in Parwanoo, Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh. The motive behind the construction of this fort was to fight against the British Army during the Anglo-Nepal war, and hence, this fort serves as the emblem of valor and bravery. It is quite easily accessible by road. This heritage fort is around 16 km away from Parwanoo, and is situated at the corner of the town, and is surrounded by a thick forest. This fort is situated at 4500 feet above sea level. We visited there and clicked many pictures. We have also visited nearby places that are serene and beautiful. Many adventure seekers visit Kasauli for trekking.

Tibetan Food
Next on our list of what to do in Kasauli is the mouth-watering Tibetan food, Kasauli has one of the best Tibetan food places where lip-smacking dishes like thukpa and dumplings are available at the local Tibetan food stalls present in the lower Mall area. We have also tried local delicacies like bread called Sidu, Madara, and poppy seeds Halwa. There some exotic healthy teas like Green Ginger Tea. The most famous street food of Kasauli is Band Samosa – a stuffed bun which is served with chutney and chole.

Timber Trail
Next on the list of things to do in Kasauli is the Timber Trail. We had a lot of fun on this joy ride. The ropeway here gives perfect glimpses to the majestic mountains and lush green valleys. The Timber Trail cable car is a 1.8 km ropeway, which promises to offer the best views.
