Thinking of travelling to Goa? Well! after being shut for months due to the pandemic and rise in COVID cases, Goa has finally opened its gates for tourists. However, as per the Government of Goa travel guidelines, the entries for travellers are allowed only in following two cases:
- those who are fully vaccinated 14 days prior to their entry in Goa.
- those who carry COVID negative test report (accredited by ICMR).
Government of Goa has laid strict measures and travel guidelines to follow. Following are the guidelines for the tourist entry into Goa:

- The accommodations for the entire stay in Goa must be pre-booked. The booked accommodation must be registered with the Department of Tourism. All the documents of the pre-booked accommodations will be checked at the entry points.
- All tourists must undergo a mandatory screening COVID test at the entry point. Any tourist exhibiting any of the COVID related symptoms upon arrival, will be asked for COVID test at the designated hospital or center. The cost of all COVID tests will be borne by the tourists themselves.
- The authorities at all the entry points will check:
- If the booked accommodation is registered with the Department of Tourism and is allowed to operate.
- The validity of the entire duration of stay.
4. The entry for domestic tourists in Goa is subjected to following protocols:

- If tourists are carrying COVID test negative report, they are permitted to proceed further to their booked accommodations. However, the test should be done under 72 hours of travel.
- If tourists are not carrying COVID negative report, then they have to undergo mandatory testing at the designated centers or hospitals. Till the time test results are received, tourists have to remain self-isolated at the pre-booked accommodation only. Only when the test results are negative, tourists are permitted to move out of the isolation. However, if found COVID positive, the tourist have to abide by the protocols issued by the State Health Department. Please note that all the costs of tests and isolation stay, will be borne by the tourists themselves.
5. Tourists are required to fill the self-declaration form provided by their accommodation for the purpose of contact tracing.
6. All tourists must download Aarogya Setu App.
For International passengers, following Goa travel guidelines are laid down:
- Upon arrival, they have to undergo the thermal screening which will be done by APHO.
- All passengers must submit self-declaration form.
- All arriving passengers must undergo mandatory rapid test. If test result found positive, they will be sent to COVID care center as per the State Government rules.
- In case of negative test results, passengers are sent to 14 days of home quarantine.
Please note that tourists will be responsible for providing the correct information in the form. If found with incorrect or misleading information, and not abiding by the rules of authorities, they will be subjected to legal actions under the applicable laws.
