When Resume International Tourist in India?
As per the latest news, India has banned international flights till September 30 to reduce the CoronaVirus infections in the country. Yet it has arranged Travel Bubble agreements and has opened its doors to 28 countries. Travel Bubble arrangements are the temporary arrangements to restart commercial passenger services while regular flights are deferred due to COVID. Prior to booking any flight, it is important to confirm if the passenger will be permitted to the destination country according to the travel bubble arrangements. However, all traveling passengers must submit the self-declaration form or the negative COVID report done within 72 hours at the time of boarding.
Till the restrictions on international flights ease down, only the following people are allowed to visit India:
- Medical tourists
- Indian citizens
- Travelers traveling for their business
- Healthcare professionals
- Work Visa holders
- Travelers traveling via Travel Bubble.
Latest Guidelines for Traveling to India
According to Union Health Ministry, the following guidelines are to be followed for international arrivals amidst the spread of COVID in various countries.
- All passengers must submit a self-declaration form. Moreover, they must abide by the government's rule of home quarantine for 14 days.
- Passengers must submit the negative COVID RT-PCR test report within 72 hours of traveling. Also, they must submit the authenticity of the report.
- Upon arrival, all passengers must show online RT-PCR exemption approval to the health authorities.
- Only asymptomatic passengers successfully passing through thermal screening will be permitted to board the flight.
- All travelers from Europe and the Middle East have to submit their samples while exiting from the airport. If the test is found negative, they will be advised to monitor their health for 14 days. However, if found positive, then they will have to follow strict protocols.
While India has succeeded in controlling the impact of COVID, many states are starting tourism for domestic tourists. However, it is advisable to limit travel within states to reduce the spread of COVID. As responsible citizens of the country, we must adhere to social distancing and follow the government's guidelines.
