When to see the fabulous Taj Mahal?

The Taj Mahal is also open for night viewing two days before and two days after the full moon (a total of five days). Night gazing is prohibited every year during the holy month of Ramadan.

Cost to visit the Taj Mahal  

Foreigners need to pay 1100 rupees for a ticket, whereas Indians need to pay 50 rupees. Admission is free for children under the age of 15. Tickets are available at ticket counters near the entrance gates and online at this website.

Note: The Taj Mahal tickets are no longer available at Agra Fort or other sites. If you visit several monuments on the same day, you will only receive a small discount.

The shoe covers, a bottle of water, an Agra tourist map, and transportation to the entry gate by bus or golf cart are included in the foreigner's ticket. It also allows ticket holders to enter the Taj Mahal ahead of any Indian ticket holders already standing in line.

Foreigners pay 750 rupees for a half-hour entry, while Indians pay 510 rupees for night viewing tickets. Children aged three to fifteen must pay a fee of 500 rupees. These tickets must be purchased at the Archaeological Survey of India office on Mall Road between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. one day in advance.

Without stepping inside, you can see the Taj Mahal

Mehtab Bagh, a 25-acre Mughal garden complex just across from the monument is one of them. Foreigners pay 250 rupees, while Indians pay 20 rupees, and the garden is open until sunset.

However, to prevent tourists from roaming along the river, an unattractive barbed wire fence has been constructed across it. You can rent a rowboat to utilize on the river. Then you need to follow the route that goes along the Taj Mahal's eastern wall to the riverbank temple. There, you will get the boatmen.

A little-known unoccupied watchtower overlooks a sandy area on the Taj Mahal's eastern side. It's a magnificent place to catch a breathtaking sunset view of the monument.
