However, it is not only famous for its amusing anecdotes related to Lord Krishna. It is believed that a mere visit to the temple provides salvation and fulfills all wishes.

The temple is also famous for its unique architectonics and architecture-friendly juxtaposition. The temple is built using Makrana marble, with the idol of the deity facing the east. The temple authority has covered the open yard in front of the dome with a plastic shed for the convenience of the devotees.

As you move toward the east of the temple; you will find another temple devoted to the deity Hanuman. There is also a holy tank or Kund on the Khatu Shyam temple premises. It is believed that a dip in the holy water can cure all diseases and provides good health. Another bigger artificial tank is also being built near the old one to accommodate the ever-increasing crowd of devotees.

Since its construction, the temple has been renovated by various noblemen. The primary sanctum sanctorum was built by Rup Singh Chauhan and Narmada Kanwar.
