1. Havelock - Andaman

Havelock Island aka Swaraj Island is an Island in the Andamans, approximately 3700 km from Delhi. Located in the bay of Bengal, Havelock island is famously known for its pristine white sand beaches. There is something for everyone on the island. Some local attractions you would love include Elephant Beach, Kala Pathar Beach, and Sea link adventures- Sea Walk. Here you can dive with the fish and eat all sorts of delicious seafood. It is the perfect family holiday destination. You can reach Havelock islands by flight and ferry. The nearest Airport is at Port-Blair, and you’ll have to take a ferry from thereon. 

2. Mount Abu - Rajasthan

Well-known for being the sole hill station in Rajasthan. Mount Abu lies in the middle of Aravali Hills, near the Gujrat border. The distance from Delhi is about 750 km and can easily be reached by train and flight. The nearest airport to Mount Abu is Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur and the closest railway station is Abu Road Railway Station. The views of Lake Nakki from the top are stupendous. Dilwara Temples, Toad road, and Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary are local attractions worth visiting. Specialties you can look forward to in Mount Abu as a family are boating, beautiful temples, and pleasant weather. 

3.  Matheran - Maharashtra

This beautiful family holiday destination is known as Asia’s only automobile-free hill station. All-encompassing views of waterfalls and well-preserved colonial architecture. The distance from Delhi is approximately 1500 km and you can reach there by your preferred mode of transportation. The closest airport is Sahar International Airport. Although, you have to take the Neral-Matheran Toy train to reach Matheran as motor vehicles are banned. It is a short and lovely ride with the views of western ghats and lush greenery. Some attractions the whole family can enjoy, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, Lord’s Point, and Charlotte Lake. This destination is perfect for a family adventure.

4. Darjeeling - West Bengal 

A summer resort destination for the British during colonization, Darjeeling has always been a paradise. Along with lush tea gardens and delicious tea, this queen of hills is an ideal destination for families during summer. You can also book a family holiday package according to your budget and needs. Darjeeling is located at an elevation of 6709 ft, approximately 1500 km from Delhi and you can reach there by flight or train. The train ride takes you through beautiful landscapes if you chose to travel by train. A few must-visit attractions include  Bengal Natural History Museum, Batasia Eco Garden, and Darjeeling Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway.

5. Gangtok - Sikkim 

At an elevation of 5410 ft, this hill city has a distinct charm. Gangtok is most commonly known for its outstanding views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain peak in the world. At approximately 1600 km from Delhi, the fastest way to reach here is via flight. The closest Airport is Bagdogra Airport and the nearest train station is New Jalpaiguri. Some local attractions you might find interesting on your visit are Ban Jhakri Falls Par, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, and Tsomgo Lake.
