According to the report, the 59-year-old woman was recorded going 51 mph in a 35 mph zone and was stopped by a Lake County sergeant. The sergeant claimed to have detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage from within the vehicle.
According to the affidavit, he asked Roth why she was driving so quickly, to which she replied that she was returning from a pub on her way to the UF Health Hospital, where she works as a travelling nurse. Roth was said to be slurring her words, which were also slow in tempo.
According to the constable who retrieved Roth's phone, her GPS app was attempting to take her to a hotel in The Villages.
When the sergeant questioned Roth if she had been drinking, she stated that she had "only had one drink," according to the report. Roth was also said to have looked around the car for her registration and insurance.
According to the report, deputies conducted field sobriety tests, which resulted to Roth's arrest for DUI. She was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail on a $1,000 bond. She was later released.
Roth is expected to return to court on November 20.
