Indian Railways Extends Services for Festive Season: Katihar-Amritsar and Udaipur-Guwahati Routes Added!
In a bid to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel during the upcoming festive season, the Indian Railways has taken a proactive step by extending its services on the Northeast Frontier Railway. Commencing from November 4, 2023, this initiative will offer additional train services between Katihar and Amritsar, as well as Udaipur and Guwahati. This move comes as a relief to travellers, as it will help accommodate the extra rush during the festive period.
Katihar to Amritsar Route
The Indian Railways is all set to increase the frequency of train number 05734, which operates between Katihar and Amritsar. This extended service will be in effect from November 4, 2023, to November 25, 2023. In an effort to cater to the surge in demand, these additional services will run every Saturday during this period.

On the other hand, train number 05733, which runs from Amritsar to Katihar, will also see an extension in its services. The extended schedule is from November 6, 2023, to November 27, 2023, and like its counterpart, it will run every Saturday.

Guwahati to Udaipur Route
Similarly, the Indian Railways is taking similar measures on the Guwahati to Udaipur route. Train number 05616, serving this route, will have its services extended from November 5, 2023, to November 26, 2023, running every Saturday during this period. Passengers heading in the opposite direction can also enjoy these extended services, with train number 05615 running from November 8, 2023, to November 29, 2023, every Wednesday.

These extended services will halt at various key stations along the route, ensuring accessibility and convenience for passengers. Stations on the route include Kanpur Central, Etawah, Shanshabad Town, Agra Cantt, Achnera, and Bharatpur. Other Routes
As part of its commitment to providing a seamless and secure travel experience, the Delhi Division of the Northern Railway recently announced the operation of 327 special trains during the festive season. This decision aims to ensure hassle-free travel for passengers, especially during the Diwali and Chhat festivals.
Sukhvinder Singh, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Delhi Division, expressed his optimism about this decision. He believes it will not only address the travel needs of passengers but also ensure that their journeys are joyous and safe. These special trains will serve various locations, including Muzaffarpur, Patna, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and more.
In addition, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed to ensure the formation of orderly queues for unreserved coach entry, further enhancing the overall travel experience.
